Prof. Chen received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Ohio State University in 1981 and 1982 respectively. And he received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois in 1987. Prof. Chen joined the Department of Electronic Engineering (EE), City University of Hong Kong as a Professor in April 1996; and he served as Associate Dean and Dean of College of Science and Engineering from June 1998 to August 2004 and September 2004 to June 2009, respectively. Prof. Chen is currently the Chair Professor of Electronic Engineering, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Terahertz and Millimeter Waves, and Director of Talent and Education Development office of the City University of Hong Kong.
